What are the screenshots taken this week

You have probably already noticed that there is no "print" key on the Mac keyboard to take a screenshot, as in Windows.

Hello,

I am a complete Mac newbie so I will have many questions.

Here is the first one: I took the screenshot according to the instructions ... but where can I find it now? I haven't set anything in the terminal yet, so I thought I can find it under Downloads, in the Finder or Images. But there is nothing. I'm at a loss as to where to look.

Thanks in advance and best regards

Kristin

I have another suggestion: the path where the screenshot is stored, where is it? I set it with the command line and then I knew it. But if a beginner goes to the command line now, he will certainly not know that he / Users / has to name English, the system is the language ... i.e. he will not get essential information and he will despair

Hello, if Firefox is used as a browser there is a simple solution.
You go to "File", there on "Print". In the "Print window" that appears, go to "Preview". If only a part of the page has been marked before, activate the box "only print selection".
If the preview is displayed, go to "File" and then to "Take a screenshot". You then have 3 options.
You can also save the page (s) in various formats under "save as".
If the page is too wide, go back and set "Page setup" to landscape format under "File" and repeat the above process.

Hi, I'm an Apple fan, but I use Windows for work. However, I am surprised that Apple's operating system in certain
Areas is damn complicated. In Windows there is a key for screenshots, with Apple you have to use completely stupid key combinations. Then you have to read how to insert these screenshots in a complicated way. Is there an explanation?

Hello Volldepp,
and welcome to the forum!

Please open your system settings and there the point keyboard.
Under the Keyboard commands tab, please check whether the hotkeys are still activated in the screenshots item.

Is the terminal no longer in the Applications / Utilities folder?
I've already read that the terminal had simply disappeared for some. Porting the Terminal.app file, which was loaded separately from the network, helped here. Or just a production of the backup of the TM, or ultimately the reinstallation.
Or you can use an alternative like iTerm as a console.

Greeting,

Mike

Hello @all,
I haven't been able to take screenshots with my Mac for a while. Suspect my daughter. What could that be? In the Mac Help you should be able to make settings in the "Terminal", but I don't have that either. Maybe someone has an idea.

cmd + shift + 3 creates a screenshot on the desktop.

Alternatively, you could try CMD + Shift + 4 and optionally then space bar.

Hello mbopho,

In the system settings under "Sound" uncheck "Use sound effects of the user interface" should be sufficient. :-)
