The book deals with the physical and physiological basics of technical acoustics, problems of machine and room acoustics as well as acoustic measurement technology. The numerical methods that can be used in technical acoustics, including the standards and guidelines that are required in daily work in these areas, are presented. Issues of sound generation, airborne and structure-borne sound propagation and noise reduction (e.g. sound absorption, silencers, sound insulation, active noise abatement), such as those that occur in rail and road traffic, take up a lot of space.

The articles have been thoroughly revised and expanded compared to the previous edition. The book not only describes the current state of technical acoustics, but is also intended to serve as an aid and guide for engineers to cope with acoustic problems and tasks.
