Those responsible and stars comment on the "The Walking Dead" issue

The main series, which captivated an audience of millions for years, is coming to an end anyway. Understandably, this also causes nostalgia among those responsible, which is already mixed with a spirit of optimism. So said producer and former showrunner Scott M. Gimple in a statement:

“Ten years have passed; There are two more stories ahead of us, and many more. This show was clearly about the living, created by a passionate cast, a team of writers / producers, producers, and a crew who brought to life the vision that Robert Kirkman brought to life in his brilliant comics - and all of this was supported by the best fans in the world. We still have a lot of exciting stories left to tell in TWD and then this ending will be the beginning of more TWD - new stories and characters, familiar faces and places, new voices and more mythology. This will be a grand finale that will lead to new premieres. Evolution is ahead of us. 'The Walking Dead' is alive. "

This sentiment was joined by Angela Kang, who has been on board the series since season 2 and has been the showrunner since season 9:

“I look forward to diving in with our brilliant writers, producers, directors, cast and crew and bringing the epic final chapter of Robert Kirkman's story to life for our fans over the next two years. The main series 'The Walking Dead' has been my creative home for more than a decade, and it's bittersweet to finish, but I couldn't be more excited to work with Scott Gimple and AMC on a new series for Daryl and Carol. Working with Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride has been one of the highlights of my career and I am thrilled that we can continue to tell stories together. "

Norman Reedus also spoke out about his departure and new assignment:

“I am incredibly honored to be part of 'The Walking Dead'. This show changed my life and career and everyone involved in it has truly been a family to me for the past decade. I am grateful for AMC's love and support and know that there are so many more stories to tell and so much that we have to offer the best fans in the world. Daryl's relationship with Carol has always been my favorite relationship on the show (sorry Rick). I love how these characters relate to each other and how they are connected on so many levels and I can't wait to see how their journey continues from here. "

Melissa McBride is also looking forward to their "The Walking Dead" future together:

“Of course, I've always enjoyed working so closely with Norman over all these seasons. Because I played Carol and as a viewer of this series, I've been fascinated by 'Daryl and Carol' for a long time and that it felt like they were connected so early on. Their shared history goes back a long way, and each individual's struggle for survival goes even further - one of the most obvious reasons they are so closely connected and loyal. But there is also a more mysterious side to their affection for one another that I like and their playfulness as far as the world allows. I am very excited! Angela [Kang] can mix things up in great and unexpected ways. She's like a kid playing with the light switch! I am very excited! "

The message to fans is clear: look into the future of "The Walking Dead" with one laughing and one crying eye! Because even when the main series ends, the zombie fun is far from over.

"The Walking Dead" also meant seeing beloved characters die cruelly. Do you still remember all of those deaths?
